The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law offers 6 Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships per year, valued at AUD$2,500 each, for students approved for an exchange program in Semester 1, 2009 and Semester 2.

The Scholarships are awarded to students approved to participate in a UQ Abroad Student Exchange on the basis of academic merit with preference to:

> Australian citizens or Permanent Residents.
> UQ Exchange with non-English speaking countries.

The recipient of the Scholarship will not be able to receive any other University exchange scholarship or travel bursary while they are in receipt of the BEL Faculty Overseas Study Assistance Scholarship. Scholarship recipients are still eligible to apply for OS-HELP loans.
No application is required for this Scholarship. Recipients will be notified following allocations of all University Exchange Scholarships.

DEEWR-funded international student exchange programs

Every year the Australian Government (Department of Employment, Education and Workplace Relations - DEEWR) provides funding to UQ to enable Australian undergraduate students to participate in an exchange with UQ's partner institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Students who submit an application to UQ Abroad by the end of October deadline 2008 to go on exchange in Semester 2, 2009, will be automatically considered for these scholarships.
